Why do you have a whole page on Touhou? You fucking nerd.

I got into Touhou when I felt like anime and game series like that were weird (stupid little boy), but I really liked the music though. Touhou was intriguing to me, it was very different from anything else I have seen, with a huge fanbase and tons & tons of fan content to check out. It felt like the Sonic fanbase if it wasnt made of cringe 12 year olds or something like that.

Most of my friends know me from being the dude that likes touhou so I guess its just a character trait of mine, even my nickname in one of my friend groups is "Mr Fumo" where thats referenceing the GIFT line of plushies that were primarly Touhous.

Touhou is now really a part of my personality because I guess thats one of the notable things about me... I guess i'm just the guy who likes Touhou or something. Not like I don't mind it though, its just a part of who I am now, if I like it or not.

I have few complaints about Touhou but those really are about the community it has, not the game itself. Most of them are that fans of the series only consume fan content and not official content (games, manga even ZUN's music collection.). It makes it so alot of people dont know whats really true in canon and whats not, making it frustrating to me when I see depictions of characters that are so wrong! One of the worst offenders of this is Flandre Scarlet, Most of her fan art makes her look like a psychopath when really shes just a little girl who wants to play with you, not knowing that the way she plays with you is actually going to hurt you. She's naive, not a killer.

I really don't like KKHTA (Koishi Komeiji's Heart Throbbing Adventure) as it just seems like a edgy 14 year olds fanfic (thats exactly what it is) with overly dark themes and nature, most notably the amount of gore in the show. The artstyle doesnt look that good, maybe a bit unnerving but I guess that just adds to the shock content I guess. I think every Touhou fan had a phase where they were into KKHTA if you were young, I even did and here I am complaining about it.

Is there a reason why you dislike fanon?

Like I said before, it makes people believe interpretations, not how the characters actually are, some that I like (Mystia being nice and not fucking cursing people) and some that I don't (Flandres paragraph above.). I really enjoy talking about Touhou (as seen by how much I can write about it) so when people are just outright wrong on some things its a bit annoying but I also don't care. I only really care about having someone who will actually listen to me talk (like you if you've read this far!) and even if its a bit anonoying, I will correct you, like a english teacher or something.
